David Korten, Author of the bestseller When Corporations Rule the World, is co-founder and board chair of the Positive Futures Network, which publishes the award-winning YES! magazine. David’s newest book is The Great Turning: From Empire to Earth Community, in which he presents a compelling vision for building a just and sustainable world. This is an epic work that calls us to pause and reflect upon what it means to be fully human.

Korten draws on evidence from sources as varied as evolutionary theory, developmental psychology, and religious teachings to make the case that “Earth Community”—a life-centered, egalitarian, sustainable way of ordering human society based on democratic principles of partnership—is indeed possible. He details a practical strategy for advancing a turning toward a future of as yet unrealized human potential.
